I am MAUREEN ASHLEY and I am a PERSONAL TRAINER, a graduate student, a daughter, an aunt, a fitness enthusiast, an amateur figure competitor, a hopeless romantic, a motivator, a dog owner and a woman who refuses to let life tell me that “I can’t”.
I graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in Sports Medicine. I have my Master’s degree in Human Nutrition from University of Bridgeport. My educational background has helped me to work with a variety of clients. In my 12 years of personal training I have worked with everyone from a teen tennis player to someone just like my grandma. I have always played sports in high school. I was definitely too short to play basketball in college but I still practiced hard and gave it all I had. My passion to be competitive continued with rugby at CMU (only for a semester. I had too many bumps and bruises to continue). I then moved on to triathlons, both olympic and sprint distances. I thought 26.2 miles was crazy to run, so I gave that a try as well. I never thought I had that “athletic” body that emulated a personal trainer. It was then decided it was time to move on from the endurance sports and into the bodybuilding/figure world. I knew this type of competition would finally give me the body I had desired. It not only changed my body, it changed my life. I turned a corner with my workouts, intensity had an entirely new meaning to me. As far as my nutrition, until you eat a diet rich in fruits, vegetables and lean protein you don’t have a clue how great you can feel. I knew that I was forever changed and now it is my mission to fill people with useful nutritional knowledge, sound training advice and the confidence to aggressively pursue their dreams.
Since starting MOE Fitness Inc., I finally have the freedom to train my parents (Not sure they share my enthusiasm). I offer personal training out of the Beverly Hills Club in Beverly Hills, Michigan. Since I can’t be everywhere all at once, online training has opened up a new door to those that are miles away from me. Online training consists of customized nutritional programs, strength training programs with helpful videos demonstrating proper form and cardiovascular programs based on heart rate training and effective high intensity interval training programs. Email, Skype, videos and photos keep me in touch and provide me with the tools I need in order to guide you each and everyday along your fitness journey.
I have a lot to share….I have wisdom beyond my years…..I am an very knowledgeable in the areas of health and fitness. I do have a unique perspective on life, my life. I am constantly learning about myself: what motivates me, moves me, upsets me, makes me smile, what I appreciate, where I want to go in life, who’s made an impact on me and where my strengths and weaknesses lie. Making my mark in life is what I live for each day. Some days I barely have my eyes open and others I feel like I can move mountains. Dare to be different….Dare to stand alone and make your mark!
